The mission of the agency is to \u201cassure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OSHA\u2019s health and safety standards are aimed at preventing accidents and accidental use of energy. It recommends that only lockout\/ tagout devices authorized for a particular machinery or equipment are used, and that these devices are durable, standardized and substantial.
